The South London Sinfonia is an orchestra based in Croydon.

We are a friendly community orchestra based in Croydon, rehearsing weekly on Tuesdays during term times.

It is with great regret that we announce the death of Paul Riley (pictured top right). He was our principal Clarinet for many years and a soloist on several occasions.  He will be sorely missed.

Rehearsals will not recommence until it it is safe to do so.  Through the summer term and part of the autumn we met up on normal rehearsal nights via Zoom.

When we have the go-ahead to resume rehearsals we will continue with the lovely programme we were working on.  If you would like to join us, whenever that happens to be, we have spaces for string players (especially violas and basses), a permanent 2nd trumpet and occasional brass.

Contact the Membership Secretary, Kate Williams or the Chair, Margaret Hawkins for more information or to be included in our "Friends of the Orchestra" emails.

Programme going forward: Beethoven Coriolan Overture, Vaughan williams "English Folk Song Suite", German "Three Dances from Henry VIII", Delibes "Le Roi S'Amuse",

Handel "Water Music ", and Schubert Symphony 8 (Unfinished)
